NHL trade rumors are circulating that Jakob Chychrun is available for a trade. The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the interested teams.

NHL trade rumors starting floating around the other day that Jakob Chychrun was available for a trade and one team that is rumored to have interest is the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Nick Kypreos was on Toronto’s local radio station, the Fan 590 and stated, that the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the teams with serious interest in Chychrun.

Kypreos went on to say, if you make a Chychrun trade, you get him for four more years at a $4.6 million cap hit. Comparable defenceman are now making between $8-$9 million a year.

Kypreos finished with saying it would likely take four pieces to make the Chychrun trade which would be a roster player, top prospect, a first round pick and second round pick.

If you are the Leafs and serious about a Stanley Cup run over the next few years, you would think GM Kyle Dubas would have to seriously look at a trade of this magnitude. They would just have to make the salary work.

  1. I think Kyle Dubas should do the trade! He has signed enough NHL ready players to make the trade. Also , the Maple Leafs have plenty of players that could be moved out to even out the salary of Jacob. There will be need of more money at seasons end. This would be a good signing due to the fact Dubas wanted a player with term if he made a trade. It is now a matter of what pieces to trade for Jacob & what players will stay & which are traded? Dubas is a master at making these kinda trades work! If it is true Jacob is available, do the trade Kyle!
