Nils Hoglander
NHL trade rumors for September 25, 2022 feature Nils Hoglander. Will he be traded, makes the Canucks lineup or be demoted to the AHL?

With the Vancouver Canucks preseason starting tonight, NHL trade rumors are floating around on what the Canucks will do with Nils Hoglander?

Rumors circulated last week that Vancouver was interested in an Ethan Bear trade and Hoglander was a player mentioned going back to Carolina in a Bear trade.

What is being said about a Nils Hoglander?

On the Donnie and Dhali show they state Nils Hoglander has never been in the good graces of current coach Bruce Boudreau and former coach Travis Green.

Hoglander is a skilled player, he was drafted in the second round, 40th overall at the 2019 NHL Draft, but he has not worked out so far with the Canucks.

Donnie and Dhali feel there is no roster spot for Nils currently with the offseason signings of Ilya Mikheyev and Curtis Lazar.

Hoglander should be demoted to the AHL and let him work on his game as he is a skilled player and does not belong on the 4th line in the Canucks lineup. He can be a top 6 player in Abbotsford.

What teams are interested in a Nils Hoglander trade?

As mentioned above, Nils Hoglander has been discussed in going to the Carolina Hurricanes for Ethan Bear. Both players need a change of scenery and a trade would make sense.

But, even though Hogs had a brutal year last year and fell out of the good graces with coach Boudreau, he seems impressed at Canucks training cap.

He’s the best player on the ice right now. He looks so much faster than he did last year. He’s definitely ready, and I think last year was a setback for him, and he doesn’t want it to happen again.
