With the Toronto Maple Leafs tight against the salary cap, they will be looking for some bargain free agent signings. One player the Leafs could target is Tony DeAngelo after being bought out by the New York Rangers.
The Leafs may be able to sign DeAngelo to a one-year $1 million contract. This benefits the Leafs and could help DeAngelo revive his career. Before he was kicked off the Rangers, DeAngelo had 53 points in 68 games in the shortened 2019-20 season.
DeAngelo, 25, provides offensive skill and he is not afraid to drop the gloves when needed. He is a right-shot dman with good vision what allows him to guide a powerplay.
Earlier in the year Bob McKenzie was reporting that the Calgary Flames, LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks and Detroit Red Wings had interest in DeAngelo.
