NHL trade rumors have circulated that the Colorado Avalanche are in search of a second-line centre with reports that they could target a Patrick Kane trade.
The asking price is likely too high for the Avs to make a Kane trade, but there are other options out there for the Stanley Cup champions.
The Avalanche interested in making a Sean Monahan trade
Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports the Colorado Avalanche are looking to make a trade for a second-line centre and Sean Monahan is on their radar.
LeBrun stated, a Monahan trade to Colorado would be a great fit for the Avs. He would provide Colorado with some additional offence and his mastery of the faceoff circle will come in handy.
Monahan, 28, has put up some solid numbers to start the NHL season as the Habs third line centre with 8 points (3g, 5a) in 15 games.
He does own a modified 10-team no trade list but would likely accept a trade to the Avalanche.
