If Patrick Kane is traded by the NHL trade deadline, his most likely destination is the New York Rangers. They have the draft picks and assets to pull off a blockbuster trade that other teams don’t have to offer.
NHL trade rumors are also making the rounds that Patrick Kane would like to be a Chicago Blackhawk for life. Reports state he wants to break all Blackhawks offensive records.
What can the NY Rangers offer in a Patrick Kane trade?
With the Chicago Blackhawks losing their 7th game in a row, and having a brutal record of 1-14-1 in their last 16 games does Patrick Kane want to stick around and endure losing night after night?
Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports believes a Patrick Kane trade to the New York Rangers would make the most sense for both teams.
Roumeliotis states in his piece that the NY Rangers have the assets the Blackhawks want. The New York Rangers have so many young players on their roster, most of whom are underperforming and could use a change of scenery, and the Blueshirts also have two first-round picks in 2023.
The NY Rangers are not offering up Braden Schneider or K’Andre Miller in a trade package but Roumeliotis feels the Rangers would offer a trade package of either Filip Chytil, Kaapo Kakko or Alexis Lafreniere along with a first round pick to start a Patrick Kane trade to the NY Rangers.
