The Edmonton Oilers have signed their goalie of the future Stuart Skinner to a three-year contract extension worth $7.8 million which gives the Oilers a yearly salary cap hit of $2.6 million.

Skinner was set to become an RFA this coming offseason and with the brutal play of goalie Jack Campbell, they had to secure their goalie of the future for the next few years.

Skinner, 24, was drafted 78th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 3rd round of the 2017 NHL entry draft. Currently over a career that spans 3 seasons, he has a total 33 games played with a 2.82 GAA and a 16-14-1
