With the Calgary Flames out of a playoff spot last season, NHL trade rumors were swirling around that Johnny Gaudreau was available for a trade.
Pierre LeBrun was on TSN 1050 and reports that the Flames and Gaudreau’s camp have had contract discussions throughout the summer and no deal could be worked out.
LeBrun went on to say that both sides will continue to have discussions throughout the season but if no deal is worked out, there is a good chance he could be traded by the 2022 NHL trade deadline.
Last season there were reports that the Philadelphia Flyers had interest in Gaudreau. Johnny hockey does have a modified no-trade clause that has five teams that he can be traded to. There is no word on what five teams he has listed for this season.
