With two big physical forwards David Clarkson and Nathan Horton off the market, teams are looking at Dustin Penner.
Penner who has fell under the radar — due mostly to a down year with the Los Angeles Kings, where he scored just two goals in 33 games.
Penner’s the type of player who is probably a little undervalued around the league because he has some flaws to his game. Players and coaches question his conditioning and his commitment, and he no longer puts up 20 or 30 goals.
But he’s still a positive possession player and the type of guy who can help push play in the right direction.
With a change of scenery Penner might be up for the bounceback player in 2013 / 2014.
Teams interested in Penner are the Detroit Red Wings, Calgary Flames and Tampa Bay Lightning.
