Josh Bailey has agreed to terms on a five-year, $16.5 million deal with the New York Islanders.
The 23-year-old scored 11 goals and eight assists in 38 games this past season with the Islanders. The Bowmanville, ON, native also made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut, recording three assists in six games during the Islanders’ Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
In five years with the Islanders, Bailey has 58 goals and 81 assists in 329 regular-season games. The Islanders selected Bailey in the first round, ninth overall, of the 2008 NHL Draft.
