What will the Boston Bruins do with Jake DeBrusk? With his trade value so low, he could be traded in the off season.

Jake DeBrusk was a healthy scratch last night for the game against the New York Islanders. DeBrusk, 24, was benched because of not putting in a ‘full effort’.

Coach Bruce Cassidy stated, “We’re not getting the effort we require… We want to make him a better player in the long run. This is the avenue we’re going to take.”

NHL Trade Rumors had the Vancouver Canucks interested in DeBrusk for a Jake Virtanen trade, but with DeBrusk’s value so low right now, a trade for DeBrusk would not bring much back.

The NHL trade deadline is April 12, so there’s plenty of time for him to turn around his season before that point. It doesn’t make too much sense for the Bruins to trade DeBrusk right now, but he could be traded in the off-season if the Bruins decide to do some retooling.
