The Vancouver Canucks are struggling and they need a shake up. NHL trade rumors going around have the Canucks shopping Jake Virtanen.

In the off-season there were rumors that the Boston Bruins and Vancouver were discussing a Jake DeBrusk for Virtanen trade. That will likely not happen now with how poorly Virtanen is playing.

Trading Virtanen would be a short-term move for the Canucks that might give the team a wake-up call and might be something that suits the player and the organization as well.

Jimmy Murphy from Pittsburgh Hockey Now reports the following teams that have shown interest in Virtanen are the Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres and New Jersey Devils.

Virtanen, 24, was drafted 6th overall in the 2014 NHL entry draft. He carries a cap hit of $2,550,000 for this year and next.
