The Philadephia Flyers season has not gone as planned and changes will happen this summer. NHL trade rumors were swirling at the NHL trade deadline that the Flyers were looking to trade Travis Konecny but they could not find the right deal.
Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff confirms that GM Chuck Fletcher had trade conversations involving Konecny. No deals materialized but groundwork might have been laid.
Seravalli went on to say, how Konecny play’s for rest of the season may go a long way toward determining his future. He could show enough to make the Flyers hesitate to trade him or if he continues to struggle, the Flyers will revisit looking to trade him in the offseason.
Konecny, 25, was drafted 24th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1st round of the 2015 entry draft. Currently he has a total 264 points in 418 games played, and 8 playoffs points in 22 games played.
