Top 5 trade candidates
View the top 5 trade candidates for the 2022-2023 NHL season. Will Jakob Chychrun, Patrick Kane, Brendan Gallagher, Bo Horvat be traded?

With the 2022-23 NHL season less than a month away from starting, it is time to look at some big name players that will likely be traded at some point this season.

With most teams maxed out on salary cap space, most deals will likely come after the Christmas Break when their cap hit is reduced or teams might have players go on long-term injured reserve.

The players listed below will be in the NHL trade rumors mill all season long and most NHL Betting sites predict these players will be moved at some point this season.

Top 5 NHL trade candidates for the 2022-23 season

Jakob Chychrun

Jakob Chychrun has been in the NHL rumors mill since last Christmas, but he still has not been traded.

The Arizona Coyotes asking price for Chychrun is HUGE and teams are not willing to give up the assets the Yotes are seeking in a Chychrun trade.

He will be traded at some point this season and the Ottawa Senators and New Jersey Devils are the leading contenders to land him.

Patrick Kane

A Patrick Kane trade has been discussed since NHL free agent frenzy started in July.

Kane will most likely be traded this season and it will likely occur at the NHL trade deadline. His salary cap hit will be lower on deadline day and teams might have available cap space from long-term injuries which might help teams from getting a third team involved in a trade.

The leading contenders to land Kane are the Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres. You can also never count out the Vegas Golden Knights as they always find a way to land a big fish for a Stanley Cup run.

Brendan Gallagher

NHL trade rumors are already floating around that GM Kent Hughes is looking to trade Brendan Gallagher to free up some salary cap space.

The Habs will likely have to retain some salary in a Gallagher trade if they want to move him out.

The LA Kings and New Jersey Devils are two teams that have been connected to Gallagher.

Jonathan Toews

Jonathan Toews name has circulated in the trade rumors mill this offseason.

There is a 50% chance he will be traded. He could very well likely be a lifetime Blackhawk, re-sign and provide leadership to the young Blackhawk players in the next few years.

If Toews wants another shot at a Stanley Cup, then he will be moved at the trade deadline.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been connected to a Toews trade.

Bo Horvat

It was J.T. Miller rumors all summer long, but now that he has re-signed with the Vancouver Canucks, everyone is asking what the team will do with Bo Horvat?

Horvat will be a UFA next summer and the Canucks will have to make some choices. The NHL salary cap now has handcuffed the team and they will have to decide can they move out another big contract to re-sign Horvat.

If the Canucks are in a playoff spot come trade deadline day, do they decide to keep Horvat as their own rental for a playoff run?
