The Philadelphia Flyers are looking at trading Jakub Voracek this offseason. They would rather trade him than lose him in the expansion draft for nothing.

Elliotte Friedman is reporting the Philadelphia Flyers and Jakub Voracek have discussed that it might be time for a change. Voracek is expected to be left unprotected for the NHL expansion draft (and was told so), where former Flyers coach Dave Hakstol would weigh in.

If Voracek is not selected by the Seattle Kraken, the Flyers will look at trading him this offseason. There are three years left on his contract, with cash slightly lower than his salary cap hit of $8.25 million.

If the Flyers cannot move Voracek this offseason, he will stay put, but the Flyers would really like to move his contract and target Seth Jones with the freed up cap space.

Voracek is still a very productive player but his cap hit could be an issue for a trade to happen. The Flyers might have to eat some of his salary to complete a trade. Voracek does not have a no-trade clause so he can be moved to any team.
