This NHL offseason is shaping up as a mass exodus of Philadelphia Flyers players. Ivan Provorov has already been moved out and NHL rumors have the Flyers shopping goalie Carter Hart and defenseman Tony DeAngelo.
The latest player to hit the Flyers rumor mill is forward Scott Laughton.
Toronto Maple Leafs interested in Scott Laughton
Elliotte Friedman was on his 32 Thoughts Podcast and stated GM Daniel Briere is getting calls on the availability of Scott Laughton. One team that has legit interest in Laughton is the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Friedman went on to say in his podcast hit that the Flyers have interested in Nick Robertson. He is one player that has had a bit of bad luck in Toronto and needs a change of scenery.
Laughton is signed for three more years at a very friendly Flyers salary cap hit of $3 million/year.
Laughton, 29, was drafted 20th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1st round of the 2012 NHL entry draft. Currently over a career that spans 10 seasons, he has a total 199 points in 519 games played, and 10 playoffs points in 24 games played.
He is coming off a season on a terrible Flyers team where he put up 43 points (18g, 25a) in 78 games.
