Joel Edmundson trade to Tampa
The Montreal Canadiens are looking to trade defenseman Joel Edmundson and the Tampa Bay Lightning have interest in a trade.

The Montreal Canadiens have debated about trading Joel Edmundson and it appears that they have let teams know he is available.

Edmundson does own a modified no-trade clause, where he submits a 10-team no-trade list but it is believed he would accept a trade to a playoff team.

Lightning interested in a Joel Edmundson trade

Elliotte Friedman was on The Jeff Marek Radio Show and reports he has heard that the Tampa Bay Lightning have interest in Montreal Canadiens defenseman Joel Edmundson.

Friedman went on to say, Edmundson to Tampa makes a ton of sense. They need to replace Ryan McDonagh, and they cleared Lightning cap space yesterday by trading Vladimir Namestnikov to the San Jose Sharks.

The big question is, do the Lightning have the assets to pull off an Edmundson trade.

What are Lightning fans saying about a Joel Edmundson trade

If Montreal retains 50% of his contract and the Lightning get Edmundson for this year and next at 1.75 mil Habs could net a pretty nice pick and Bolts get a third pairing, cup winning dman in the cheap. I like it.

Alex Barre Boulet an 2nd in 2025 and a cap dump. Lets go! Add a 4th and we retain.

The Lightning need to make another move to keep up with the Bruins and Leafs but they have no draft assets.
