The Vegas Golden Knights still have trades to makes once all players are back healthy. Who gets traded, Reilly Smith or Evgenii Dadonov?

The latest NHL trade rumors chatter goes back to the Vegas Golden Knights. Now that Vegas has finally landed the player they wanted all summer long in Jack Eichel, they will have to move out some players once Mark Stone and Max Pacioretty are back in the lineup.

Justin Emerson of the Las Vegas Sun reports when Vegas becomes fully healthy and after moving around some depth players they still have $7 million in cap space to free up. Where does that $7 million-plus come from?

Emerson suggests either Reilly Smith or Evgenii Dadonov will have to be traded at some point this season. Both Smith and Dadonov have the same cap hit, and Smith is set to be a free agent at year’s end, while Dadonov is also signed for next season. Moving one of those players would get most of the way to solving the cap puzzle.

One of Mattias Janmark and Brayden McNabb will also have to be traded to get the Golden Knights under the salary cap once Eichel, Stone and Pacioretty are back and healthy.

Coming up to the NHL trade deadline, you can expect the Golden Knights to be quite busy in the trade rumor mill to get the tam cap compliant.
