Picture of Patrick Kane. Will he sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs?
The latest NHL trade rumors for the Toronto Maple Leafs feature the team interested in signing free agent Patrick Kane.

Patrick Kane underwent hip resurfacing surgery in June and is projected to make a full recovery within 4-6 months. However, NHL fans are curious as to which team he will play for and when he will return.

NHL rumors suggest that free agent Kane may return in late November or December. Multiple teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, are interested in signing him.

Will Patrick Kane sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Dave Poulin was on Toronto’s local radio station TSN 1050 and stated that multiple teams will have interest in Patrick Kane as he is still a highly talented player.

Poulin went on to say in his radio hit that if his hip is all cleared up, the Toronto Maple Leafs should have a high level of interest in signing him.

Many Leaf haters may argue that Toronto lacks the salary cap space to secure a contract with Kane. However, history has shown that teams are capable of finding ways to sign desired players and shed salaries accordingly.

NHL trade rumors have the Leafs signing Kane to a one-year contract and not long-term.

What are NHL fans saying about Patrick Kane signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Stay away. Kane is not elite anymore. We need defense and not another scoring forward on a wonky hip.

When Kane is healthy, he is a stud. If the Toronto Maple Leafs can sign him to a cheap deal, I say do it!

I hear Kane is interested in signing with the Detroit Red Wings. Sorry Leaf fans.

  1. I hope he signs with Toronto or Detroit or any team but my NY Rangers. Kakko needs an extended look on the 1st line once and for all. Also, Kakko and Lafreniere are never going to get to prove themselves, especially on the PP, if they keep giving those minutes to others. Finally, I’m tired of constantly giving up our limited picks for past-their-prime trade deadline rentals. Enough with the negativity towards our two lottery picks when they haven’t gotten the same opportunities as other top picks. You can have Kane.

  2. Leafs took a GM from a loser squad who couldn’t retain its stars..great!..what’s next,Sutter?
We don’t need ANY fLames players!

  3. Leafs already have some of the best forwards in the league and enough talent available that they will be fighting for spots. Treliving needs to make some moves to improve the blue line.
    DEFENCE ! DEFENCE! DEFENCE!

  4. Will anyone within the Leaf’s organization ever wake up and finally understand that the Leaf’s need defense that’s how you win championships they don’t need anymore goal scorers please for the love of god get a defense
