Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson just can’t seem to crack Sheldon Keefe’s lineup and has been finding himself riding the pine more often than not.
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Ville Heinola is in a similar position like Robertson where he can’t get much consistency from the Winnipeg Jets organization.
Do both players need a change of scenery so they can showcase their talents in the NHL?
Will the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets make a trade?
Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff states given the injuries to both teams and the positional needs the Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs should make a trade.
He suggests a Ville Heinola for Nick Robertson trade. Same age. Similar upside. Similar risk. Same waiver exemption. Similar contracts/cap hits.
The problem is both team fan bases are saying no to this trade. And they’re really adamant about it. Our prospect is a blue chip can’t-miss sure thing, theirs is just some guy!
