Two teams that have struggled to start they NHL season might team up for a blockbuster trade.
The Columbus Blue Jackets sit near the very bottom of the NHL standings with a disappointing 6-10-1 record (13 points) and the Vancouver Canucks are not far behind with a sad 6-9-3 record (15 points).
NHL trade rumors are making the rounds that the Blue Jackets could make a Bo Horvat trade.
Will the Blue Jackets make a Bo Horvat trade?
Elliotte Friedman was on his 32 Thoughts Podcast on Friday and stated, I heard some NHL rumors about Bo Horvat being traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The trade would make a lot of sense, Columbus could really use a centre. Horvat has started the NHL season on fire with 20 points (14g,6a) in 18 games.
What would the cost be to acquire Bo Horvat?
Bo Horvat will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and the Vancouver Canucks do not have the salary cap space to re-sign him. All signs are pointing to Horvat being traded.
If Columbus were to make a trade, Canucks management is asking for Kent Johnson and a 2023 2nd round pick in return. Blue Jackets fans might say Liam Foudy + 2nd round pick, but it will be Kent Johnson if the Blue Jackets want Horvat.
