Detroit looking to sign Jonathan Bernier

MLive.com: Ansar Khan reports the Detroit Red Wings are leaning toward signing Jonathan Bernier as their new backup on perhaps a three-year deal. Theyā€™re also interested in bringing back former Wings Valtteri Filppula and Thomas Vanek and have had productive discussions with free agent defenseman Mike Green, who could re-sign a two-year deal by Sunday.

LA Kings interested in defenceman Calvin de Haan

The Fourth Period: The Los Angeles Kings are believed to be one of at least 10 teams interested in pending unrestricted free agent defenceman Calvin de Haan. de Haan, 27, made $3.3 million this past season with the New York Islanders, and it appears he might not be in the teamā€™s plans moving forward. He played in just 33 games with the Islanders this past season, due to lingering injuries, and recorded one goal and 11 assists for 12 points. The Kings currently have roughly $4.104 million in available salary cap space for next season.

NY Rangers interested in Ryan Reaves

The Score: The New York Rangers are “keenly interested” in forward Ryan Reaves, who is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1, reports Larry Brooks of the New York Post. Reaves had just 10 points last season in time split between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Vegas Golden Knights, but offense isn’t his game. He finished ninth in the NHL in both hits with 236, and penalty minutes with 94. The Rangers are primarily made up of skilled players, so adding an element of grit during an expected youth movement isn’t a bad idea at the right price. Reaves’ previous cap hit was $1.125 million.
