Brandon Hagel has been traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning for two first round picks, Taylor Raddysh and Boris Katchouk.

Brandon Hagel’s name started to popup in the NHL trade rumors mill last month from him having a solid season along with a very friendly salary cap hit of $1.5 million AVV for two more seasons.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have stepped up and paid a steep price for the Hagel trade.

The Lightning receive Hagel, two 4th round picks from the Chicago Blackhawks and the Blackhawks get two first round picks, Taylor Raddysh and Boris Katchouk.

There was no salary retained in the trade. The Lightning salary cap situation required a money-in/money-out deal and the Katchouk/ Raddysh salaries combined were a touch more than Hagel.
