The Hockey News: Evander Kane was scratched from last night’s game against the Vancouver Canucks which is leading to trade rumors. Kane’s name has popped up in trade rumors over the past few years with nothing ultimately coming of them. But with Kane being a scratch in his home town in front of family and friends, this time things might not sit too well with Kane and he might demand a trade out of Winnipeg.

The Fourth Period: The New York Islanders are hoping to add some extra fire power up front before the March 2 NHL trade deadline arrives. It’s believed the Islanders have expressed some interest in Buffalo Sabres right wing Chris Stewart, as well as Arizona Coyotes forward Antoine Vermette.
