NHL trade rumors have circulated all offseason that Jonathan Toews could be traded. Like the Patrick Kane rumors, the only way Toews is getting moved is if he wants out of Chicago and a third team is involved in a trade to reduce the salary cap hit.

The one team that has been tied to a Jonathan Toews trade is the Pittsburgh Penguins. If this trade does happen, it will be around the NHL trade deadline.

Does Jonathan Toews want to be traded?

Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports Jonathan Toews is still committed to the Chicago Blackhawks and he hasn’t given much thought yet to the possibility of a trade out of Chicago.

Toews has had discussions with his family and agent about the possibility of a trade but everything is pointing to him being a Blackhawks for life.

Obviously it would be fun to be on a winning team and live that dream again, but I’m not letting my mind get there now.”

What will Chicago Blackhawks management do about a Jonathan Toews trade?

Chicago Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson has told the media that he won’t approach Jonathan Toews to ask him to waive his no-trade clause.

When NHL free agent frenzy started back in July, Toews never approached team management to ask for a trade out of Chicago.

Toews is committed to the Blackhawks even though his was upset with the trades of Alex Debrincat and Kirby Dach. He has has let the organization know he is committed to the rebuild and tank nation for getting the best odds at drafting Connor Bedard.
