Noah Dobson and J.T. Miller
NHL trade rumors for July 29, 2022 feature a J.T. Miller for Noah Dobson trade. Could a deal be worked out this summer?

J.T. Miller is still a Vancouver Canuck but for how much longer? He still does not have a new contract extension and the Canucks will not let him walk for nothing next offseason.

NHL trade rumors are making the rounds that Miller could be New York Islander bound for Noah Dobson.

Ben Kuzma of The Province reports the Canucks have had interest in Dobson since the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The Canucks coveted him back then and would love to make a trade for the right-shot blueliner this summer.

The Islanders are looking for offensive help and for someone to play along Mathew Barzal. Dobson, 22, is a restricted free agent and looking for a new contract.

Miller is a tremendous bargain with a $5.25 million Canucks salary cap hit. The Islanders had interest in a Miller trade at the 2022 NHL draft but nothing materialized. It is looking like talks between the Canucks and Isles have begun again.

Kuzma stated for a Miller trade to happen, it will cost the Islanders Dobson, a roster forward or top prospect, plus a 2023 first-round pick.

  1. Sorry, I would not trade Noah Dobson, a rising star defenseman for J.T. Miller. Islanders better off keeping Dobson and signing an unrestricted free agent forward.
