Kaapo Kakko has signed a 2 year, $4,200,000 contract extension with the New York Rangers.
Kakko’s name had floated around in the NHL trade rumors mill earlier this season as part of a trade package for Vancouver Canucks J.T. Miller but nothing materialized from those rumors.
Kakko, 21, was drafted 2nd overall by the Rangers in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Currently he has a total 58 points in 157 games played, and 5 playoffs points in 22 games played.Â
