The Score: The St. Louis Blues are open about trading core players like David Backes, T.J. Oshie, and Patrik Berglund.

But if there’s a deal out there that makes sense, word from rival executives is that the Blues are more open-minded than ever to move one of their long-standing core guys, whether that’s David Backes, T.J. Oshie, Patrik Berglund or other veterans.

NHL.com: Calgary Flames GM Brad Treliving not expecting to make many trades at the 2015 NHL draft.

“My expectation right now is we’re going to make nine selections at the draft,” Treliving told Aaron Vickers of NHL.com. “Now things could change. I feel comfortable we’ve been aggressive in finding out what people may be looking for and they understand what we may be looking for. Now it just may be finding a fit. To handicap it, I couldn’t.”

Detroit Free Press: Helene St. James reports Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland is working the phones exploring the trade market while deciding whether or not he’ll buy out the remainder of Stephen Weiss’ contract. Holland reportedly seeks a “top-six forward with size, and a productive top-four defenseman.”
