NHL rumors for March 13, 2022 feature the Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Avalanche as the probable destinations for a Marc-Andre Fleury trade.

NHL rumors have been floating around since December that a team will trade for Marc-Andre Fleury. Ultimately the decision is up to Fleury if he wants to leave Chicago, but most NHL analysts believe he will waive his no-trade clause to have a chance to win another Stanley Cup.

Elliotte Friedman was on Sportsnet’s 32 Thoughts segment and reports Fleury will not submit a no-trade list to Blackhawks management, he believes it is irrelevant.

Friedman went on to say it is likely the Colorado Avalanche or Toronto Maple Leafs are the teams of choice for Fleury. A Fleury trade will happen if the teams can make the salary cap space work.

The Maple Leafs will likely have to find a way to trade Petr Mrazek for a Fleury trade to happen, if they can’t find a taker, Fleury is not coming to Toronto.

The Avs are probably Fleury’s destination of choice but most NHL analysts believe Colorado will stick with goalies Darcy Kuemper and Pavel Francouz and try to make a Claude Giroux trade.
