With the recent offseason injury to Max Pacioretty, the Carolina Hurricanes needed to find someone to fill the hole Pacioretty is leaving and the Canes have decided Paul Stastny is that player.
The Hurricanes have signed Stastny, 36, to a one-year deal worth $1.5 miilion.
Paul Stastny was drafted 44th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2nd round of the 2005 NHL entry draft.
Over a stellar career that spans 16 NHL seasons, Stastny has a total 800 points in 1072 games played and 69 playoffs points in 103 games played.
