Nathan MacKinnon took a hard hit from Boston Bruins forward Taylor Hall Wednesday night but most of the damage was done by MacKinnon’s stick coming up and hitting his face from the hit.
MacKinnon suffered a facial fracture and a concussion from the hit. He’ll miss the next three games. It is unclear if he’ll be ready for the NHL All-Star Game.
Hall was originally given a five-minute high-sticking major on the play, but after an official’s review, the penalty was reduced to a minor for interference.
