The Nashville Predators have signed forward Nino Niederreiter to a two-year, $8 million contract.

Niederreiter, 29, will carry a Predators salary cap hit of $4 million under the new deal. Niederreiter scored 24 goals and had 44 points in 75 games last season with the Carolina Hurricanes.

There is no confirmation just yet, but it is believed his new contract does not carry a no-trade clause.

Niederreiter was drafted 5th overall by the New York Islanders in the 1st round of the 2010 NHL entry draft. Over a career that spans 11 seasons, he has a total 368 points in 732 games played, and 30 playoffs points in 82 games played.
