The New Jersey Devils are looking to trade the 4th overall draft pick this year for a good young defenceman.

The New Jersey Devils are looking to make some moves this off-season to be a playoff contender and one piece they are willing to trade is their 4th overall draft pick in this years entry draft.

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet is reporting, the New Jersey Devils would consider moving the fourth-overall selection for a good, young defenceman.

Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald has roughly $37 million in salary cap space next season, giving him plenty of flexibility to add to his roster over the off-season.

The Fourth Period is reporting the Devils could have interest in Arizona Coyotes defenceman Jakob Chychrun. At just 23 and signed for the next four seasons, the Coyotes might be uninterested in moving Chychrun, as they are looking to move Oliver Ekman-Larsson, sniper Phil Kessel and goalie Darcy Kuemper first.

Whatever happens, the Devils will be looking to improve their team this summer and make a push for the playoffs next season.
