The Minnesota Wild are looking to finish up their roster for the start of the 2022-23 season and NHL trade rumors have the Wild looking to add a forward to the team via trade or free agency.
Minnesota has $4.3 million left in salary cap space. Losing Kevin Fiala to the LA Kings was a big loss but they had no choice in making the trade with the $12.7 million buyout cap hit they have with Ryan Suter and Zach Parise.
Michael Russo recently confirmed this trade rumor and stated via twitter, GM Bill Guerin continues to work the trade market, but if it doesn’t come to fruition, he’ll still look to sign a forward in free agency.
Russo went on to say in his tweet, Guerin is also open to keeping that open forward spot free for internal competition in wild training camp.
If Guerin can’t find a forward via trade, free agent options are: Phil Kessel, Paul Stastny, Sonny Milano or Evan Rodriques.
