The Toronto Maple Leafs feel they are Stanley Cup contenders and are willing to make a move at the NHL trade deadline. NHL rumors all season have had the Leafs looking to add a defenceman and could Jakob Chychrun be that Dman?
Chris Johnston was on TSN’s Insider trading segment and stated, Toronto would rather acquire a player who has a little bit of term left on their contract rather than a straight rental, like they have on previous years.
Darren Dreger went on to say, Arizona Coyotes’ defenceman Jakob Chychrun has term left on his contract and I can tell you, the Leafs are among many teams who have at least kicked tires on a Chychrun trade.
Dreger added, the asking price for Chychrun is not cheap as the Coyotes seek a young player, high-end prospect and a first round pick.
