The Washington Capitals are trying to trade Evgeny Kuznetsov but it appears there is no takers on the troubled forward.

NHL trade rumors have been going around that the Washington Capitals are getting frustrated with first-line center Evgeny Kuznetsov. The 29-year-old carries a $7.8 million annual cap hit through 2024-25.

Kuznetsov is a tough trade to make, but the Capitals have been trying. Simply put, the Caps are tired of Kuznetsov’s antics. From being one of the only NHL players to test positive for Covid-19 twice this season, to his four-year suspension from international hockey after testing positive for cocaine, the time is right for a change.

Kuznetsov’s contract and salary cap hit have been deterrents, but perhaps less so after the Caps paid his $5 million signing bonus in July.

A few months ago, there were rumors the LA kings were interested in the troubled forward, but the Kings have used their salary cap space on other transactions. There is no word on what other teams are showing interest right now.
