Jonathan Drouin changed his number for this season in the hopes of having better luck. That luck has not worked out to start the season as Drouin has found himself riding the pine to begin the Habs season.
He was a healthy scratch in their home opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs and with the team winning, it is doubtful he will suit up for their next game.

It is likely the Montreal Canadiens will look to trade Jonathan Drouin at some point this season, but the Habs will have to get him into some games to prove Drouin can be a helpful addition to a team looking for a playmaking forward.
Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports Drouin does not have a future with the Canadiens and GM Kent Hughes will look to find a taker for a Drouin trade. The Habs might have to eat some salary to facilitate a trade.

These past two, three years have been tough for me on that point, where I’ve had good starts to the season and injuries completely ruined my season. So I’m really focused on taking care of my body and making sure I’m healthy.

Drouin wants to play games and contribute. Plus he is in the final year of his contract and wants to show other teams he is healthy, can score, contribute, so his can land another long-term deal with another team.
