John Tavares to the Toronto Maple Leafs?

New York Post: Larry Brooks is reporting John Tavares could grow frustrated of playing in Brooklyn and sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs as an UFA in 2018. Brooks cites the club’s unwillingness thus far to build a practice facility in Brooklyn as one source of this frustration.

Forwards who could be traded at the NHL trade deadline

Ottawa Sun: Carolina Hurricanes Eric Staal, Winnipeg Jet’s Andrew Ladd, Boston Bruins’s Loui Eriksson, Arizona Coyotes Mikkel Boedker, Columbus Blue Jackets Scott Hartnell, Kyle Okposo of the New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning holdout Jonathan Drouin are among those being watched right now. Bruce Garrioch expects the Bruins will move pending UFA Eriksson before the trade deadline.

Minnesota Wild looking to make some trades

Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman is reporting Minnesota Wild GM Chuck Fletcher tried to make a trade before making the decision to fire head coach Mike Yeo. Teams Fletcher was talking with wanted Charlie Coyle or Nino Niederreiter but he didn’t want to part with. Fletcher did offer defenseman Jonas Brodin to Columbus for center Ryan Johansen.

  1. Please stop posting any articles by Larry Brooks and the Islanders. He knows nothing. 2 weeks ago he suggested the Isles should trade for Stamkos. Everyone loves playing for the Rangers living in Manhattan but commuting to practice in Westchester but no one is willing to commute to a game in Brooklyn but live and practice on the Island.
