If the New York Rangers want to make a trade for Pierre-Luc Dubois, it will take Kaapo Kakko plus a top prospect.

Larry Brooks of the New York Post is reporting that if the New York Ranges want to make a trade for Pierre-Luc Dubois, the cost will be high.

Dubois has made it known that he has no desire to play for the Columbus Blue Jackets and NHL trade rumors going around, have a plethora of teams wanting to trade for his services.

Brooks states, the Blue Jackets would probably like a center in return. The Blue Jackets would be pretty well obligated to ask for Alexis Lafreniere in return, donā€™t you think? And if Lafreniere is walled off, Kaapo Kakko would have to be next in line, and because Kakko is a wing while Dubois plays the middle, figure that the Finn alone wouldnā€™t be enough.

Brooks thinks for the Rangers to make a trade for Dubois, it would take Kakko and Filip Chytil? Or Kakko and Kā€™Andre Miller? Kakko, Chtyil, plus? The price would be that high.

It is likely the Rangers will not give up the assets to get Dubois. Leading contenders are still the Kings, Ducks, Jets, Flames, Blackhawks and possibly the Canadiens.
