Elias Lindholm has been in the NHL trade rumors mill for a good chunk of the summer, but nothing has materialized yet.
It has been reported that Lindholm has no intention of re-signing with the Calgary Flames and that is why his name has been floating around in the rumor mill.
Lindholm, 28, is in the final year of his contract which has a salary cap hit of $4.85 million and he does not own a no-trade clause.
There have been reports linking Lindholm to the Boston Bruins, and it seems the Washington Capitals are also interested in the forward.
Will Calgary Flames forward Elias Lindholm be traded to the Washington Capitals?
Sammi Sibler of The Hockey News states in her piece online that if Elias Lindholm decides not to re-sign with the Calgary Flames, the Washington Capitals should be calling new GM Craig Conroy on what it would take to make a trade.
NHL trade rumors have the Capitals packaging draft picks or prospects and one of Evgeni Kuznetsov or Anthony Mantha to try and pry Lindholm away from Calgary.
Perhaps not but the further this drags on you have to question the loyalty. I say he should be traded…hopefully, Conroy got the memo on what happened with Johnny hockey. Get the best deal and pull the pin.
Bull. Lindholm has not said he won’t resign.
