NHL Trade rumors were floating around last week that the Montreal Canadiens could trade Brendan Gallagher to shake things up for the team.
Now that Marc Bergevin has been fired, rumors are circulating that Gallagher does not want to be part of a full rebuild.
Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports “Gallagher is not certain he’d want to stick around if Habs are planning a rebuild under new management team.”
Gallagher, 29, will be enticing for some teams, even with his big salary cap hit. He has grit, a hard worker and if the Habs retain a portion of Gallagher’s salary, he can be traded.
Gallagher does have a modified no-trade, no-move clause where he submits a 6 team no trade list. But if he does not want to be part of a rebuild, he could expand his no-trade list.
