NHL trade rumors have been pretty active on the Nazem Kadri front. It was reported last week that the Washington Capitals could have interest in signing Kadri. Now it appears the Detroit Red Wings also have interest.
Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman were on their 32 Thoughts Podcast and discussed Kadri. Marek feels the Red Wings are going to spend money when free agent frenzy starts and compete for a playoff spot next year.
Marek went on to say, Detroit needs to fill the centre position, the Red Wings have the salary cap space to offer Kadri a big contract.
I think GM Steve Yzerman convinces Nazem Kadri to sign, he knows the division, he’s from London, ONT, across the border there, he understands what it means to play for an original six team. I think Detroit surprises this offseason.

So Marek and Friedman have no real information, it is only their opinion that the Wing’s are interested in Kadri. The title of this article is misleading, at best.
