Could Sidney Crosby end up in Colorado to play with his buddy Nathan MacKinnon? It is very possible.

Elliotte Friedman was on The Fan 590 radio show and was asked about the the potential hiring of Ron Hextall to be the new Pittsburgh Penguins General Manager.

As part of the hiring process, Hextall would want things done his way. He did a great job with the Philadelphia Flyers. If it came down to trading Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin or Kris Letang, Hextall wants to make sure he has full authority to make the trade.

Friedman stated on the radio that he feels that ownership wants Crosby, Malkin and Letang to be Penguins for life. But Friedman also said, there could be a possibility that when Crosby’s contract is up in a few years, he could end up playing with Nathan MacKinnon in Colorado.

Nobody knows what will happen with the Penguins big three, but you have to think that if Hextall sees a good deal, he would trade Malkin or Letang. If Crosby leaves Pittsburgh, it will be on his decision, not the teams.
