Cole Caufield will be a Montreal Canadien for another 8 years as he has signed a $62.8 million USD contract extension.

The Montreal Canadiens have locked up one of their young stars as forward Cole Caufield has signed an 8-year contract extension worth $62.8-million USD.

NHL rumors had circulated that Caufield could receive an offer sheet on July 1 if no contract extension had been signed with the Habs.

His new contract includes a 15 team no-trade list in 2028-29, a 10 team no-trade list in 2029-30 and a 5 team no-trade list in 2030-31.

Caufield, 22, was drafted 15th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1st round of the 2019 NHL entry draft. Currently over a career that spans 3 seasons, he has a total 84 points in 123 games played, and 12 playoffs points in 20 games played.
