Picture of Ivan Provorov. He was traded to the Blue Jackets in a three team deal.
A complicated three team trade was completed for Ivan Provorov that involved the Blue Jackets, Kings and Flyers.

NHL trade rumors had circulated last week that the Philadelphia Flyers let teams know defenseman Ivan Provorov was available for a trade. The Blue Jackets let teams know their first round pick was available.

Well now Provorov is a Columbus Blue Jacket. It was a complicated trade as three teams were involved. The Blue Jackets, Flyers and LA Kings.

Here is a breakdown of the Ivan Provorov trade to Columbus

Columbus Blue Jackets:

  • Ivan Provorov

Philadelphia Flyers:

  • 2023 No. 22 overall pick from Columbus, 2nd Rd Pick in 2024 or 2025
  • LA Kings 2024 2nd Rd Pick
  • Cal Petersen, Sean Walker, prospect Helge Grans

LA Kings:

  • 30% retained on Provorov
  • Kevin Connauton
  • Hayden Hodgson

What are NHL fans saying about the Provorov trade to Columbus?

Is Ivan Provorov really that good, or is this just a massive win for Philly?

Provorov is underrated and fills a serious gap in defensive talent for the Jackets, and could even help Jiricek and other young guys develop, but is he worth THAT much?

Awesome moves by our new GM Daniele Briere. What a haul!
