Josh Anderson trade to Flames
Are the Calgary Flames interested in a Josh Anderson trade. Habs GM Kent Hughes says it will take an offer he can't refuse.

Josh Anderson has been in the NHL trade rumor mill for the past year but no trade. Anderson, 28, is a big body player that every team wants, that is why there are always rumors flying around his name.

With the NHL trade deadline fast approaching, playoff contenders are contacting Habs GM Kent Hughes on Anderson’s availability.

Flames interested in Josh Anderson

Darren Dreger was on TSN’s Insider Trading segment and stated that Josh Anderson is NOT available for a trade UNLESS a team makes an offer that GM Kent Hughes simply cannot refuse.

Dreger went on to say in his TV hit that the Calgary Flames had interest in an Anderson trade last summer but the Habs preferred to keep him.

Anderson has a $5.5 million Habs salary cap hit until the 2026-27 season and if the Flames want him, they will have to pay a big price to acquire him.

What are Flames fans saying about a Josh Anderson trade?

Darren Dreger is trying to trick Flame fans and other GMs into thinking that Josh Anderson doesn’t have negative value. It took a 1st round pick to get rid of 1 year of Sean Monahan’s $6M. I wouldn’t touch 4 more years of Anderson at $5.5M unless 2 1sts come back.

5m+ a year for a glorified 3rd liner is a bad contract. At that many years, it’s an anchor, even more so since Josh Anderson is on the brittle side. If you can get anything remotely close to a 1st for him, it’s utter nonsense to keep him in Montreal.

Insane how much Montreal values this guy
