Boston Bruins looking to sign or trade for a defenceman

With Zdeno Chara deciding to leave Boston and sign with the Washington Capitals, that leaves the Bruins with a void on the backend and will need to find a left-shot defenceman.

The Boston Bruins will look at the NHL trade and free agency markets for preferably a top 4 left-shot defenseman but at least a veteran for the third pairing. 

NHL trade rumors have the Bruins looking at UFA defensemen Karl Alzner, Ben Hutton and Sami Vatanen. There are other teams that also have interest in the mentioned defenceman and if Boston can’t land one of them, they will likely look to make a trade for a dman.
