Alec Martinez Bruins rumors
NHL trade rumors for May 25, 2022 feature the Boston Bruins interested in making a trade for VGK defenceman Alec Martinez.

Everyone knows the Vegas Golden Knights will have to shed salary over the summer. The big question is, what players will GM Kelly McCrimmon move in the offseason to get Vegas cap compliant.

Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe reports that Boston Bruins have had their eye on defenceman Alec Martinez since last summer.

Martinez, 35, does have a Vegas salary cap hit of $5.25 million for another two years. He owns a modified no-trade clause that includes a 16 team no trade list this season, a 12 team no trade list for 2022-23 and a 8 team no trade list 2023-24.

If Martinez is willing to be traded to the Bruins, the cost would be low as this is a salary dump trade but are the Bruins interested in a 35 year old Dman?

Martinez was drafted 95th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 4th round of the 2007 NHL entry draft. Currently over a career that spans 13 seasons, he has a total 246 poits in 686 games played, and 29 playoffs points in 103 games played.
