Vladimir Tarasenko
NHL trade rumors for July 24, 2022 feature Vladimir Tarasenko. The New York Islanders need scoring help and have interest.

Now that Matthew Tkachuk, Johnny Gaudreau, Patrik Laine and Evgeni Malkin are out of the NHL trade rumors mill, Vladimir Tarasenko is now making the rounds in the rumor mill.

Tarasenko had requested a trade of of St. Louis last offseason and he could have been had for a bag of pucks, but no team wanted to make the trade because of his wonky shoulder.

Tarasenko went on to have a career year last season and put up 82 points in 75 games. Reports are Tarasenko still has not rescinded his trade request and would welcome a trade but this time it will cost more than a bag of pucks if a team wants to make a Tarasenko trade.

The New York Islanders were interested in a trade last year but a deal could not be worked out. The Isles need scoring help and Tarasenko would be a great fit. GM Lou Lamoriello could revisit a trade this offseason.

Tarasenko is on his last year of his contract with a Blues salary cap hit of $7,500,000 which makes a Tarasenko trade difficult but not impossible.

If the Islanders want to be playoff contenders for the 2022-2023 season, a Tarasenko trade could be coming if the Blues decide to part with Tarasenko instead of letting him walk at free agency next summer.
