Adam Henrique has signed a a six-year, $24 million contract extension with the The New Jersey Devils.

Henrique will enter his third NHL season after scoring 11 goals and adding five assists for 16 points in 42 games with the Devils last season. The 23-year-old started the year with the AHL’s Albany Devils but played in 16 games before suffering a thumb injury.

Henrique was named to the 2011-12 NHL All-Rookie Team, while finishing third in the voting for the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league’s top rookie. His 51 points that season marked the fourth-highest rookie total in team history, while his 13 post-season points were a franchise record among first-year players.

Henrique was selected by the Devils in the third round (82nd overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
