The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Zack Kassian to a one-year contract for $1.5 million.
Kassian, 25, appeared in 36 games with the Oilers last season, posting eight points (three goals, five assists) and 114 penalty minutes.
Kassian was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the first round, 13th overall in the 2009 NHL draft.

Next move for the Oilers will be to either trade Jordan Eberle or Ryan Nugent-Hopkins for a top-two defenceman.
